No going back?

I suppose this is more of a personal post about the various incarnations of welcomebrand over the last 2 years and me wondering out loud at what point a designer should say to themselves much as they like a design (as I personally enjoy using the current light green/plain theme) their visitors preferred something different.
In my case, the old version of welcomebrand, (you can view an archived version here) served me well, it allowed me to show off various porfolio items and also allowed me to indulge in my passion for photography by letting me upload various background images that cycled on a random basis to provide the background for my site.
Since I updated the site a few months back I’m finding I don’t blog anywhere as much as I’d planned and as such the layout isn’t really as useful as a high impact portfolio as it is for a clean, easy to read blog.
Should I revert back, shunt the blog into the background or should I keep moving forward despite knowing the older version of the site got more traffic and more hits from “inspiring design” sites?
Comments welcome from people who do return to the site as to what you’d prefer to see!

As much as I like the leafy green theme, I personally much prefer the previous version of your site. I was quirky without being annoying. I feel this new version looks like many other blog sites out there whereas the previous design really stood out from the crowd.
If you are not going to blog that much I would change it back – people will still find your blog if they want to.

Sorry – typo in the comment above – meant to read ‘It was quirky without being annoying.’

I tend to agree and it’s certainly been nagging at me for a little while that I should reinstate the older version of the site. I’ve made a start with a new blog theme which has a bit of an update to tidy up bits from the old site that I’d never got round to sorting out.
Now I just need to finish off the homepage and move the blog into a new directory so it’s not the main focus of the site again .. the fun never stops.
